Melbourne vs Richmond – ANZAC Day Eve AFL 2027
Secure your MCG Corporate Box or premium AFL hospitality package for Melbourne vs Richmond on ANZAC Day Eve, Saturday 24 April 2027 at 7:40pm (AEST). Dynamic Sports Marketing offers private corporate suites and premium dining experiences for one of the AFL’s most significant annual fixtures.
The Demons and Tigers return to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for their traditional ANZAC Day Eve clash, combining a powerful pre-match tribute with the atmosphere of Saturday night football.
With the moving ANZAC observance ceremony, the MCG under lights and two passionate Victorian supporter bases, this is an outstanding occasion to entertain clients, reward staff or enjoy a memorable evening at the football.
ANZAC Day Eve at the MCG – A Special AFL Tradition
Since its introduction in 2015, the modern ANZAC Day Eve fixture between Melbourne and Richmond has become an important part of the AFL calendar. The occasion recognises the service and sacrifice of Australia’s military personnel, past and present, with a pre-match observance ceremony that creates a particularly moving atmosphere inside the MCG.
The ceremony has traditionally included the Last Post, a period of silence and other commemorative elements, with supporters encouraged to take their seats well before the opening bounce. It is a moment that extends beyond club allegiances, bringing football supporters together to reflect before the intensity of the contest begins.
In 2027, the fixture falls on a Saturday evening, providing an excellent opportunity to experience the full occasion from the comfort of premium MCG hospitality.
Melbourne Looks to Continue Its ANZAC Eve Dominance
Melbourne has enjoyed considerable success against Richmond in this traditional fixture, winning the last six ANZAC Day Eve encounters. The Demons delivered an impressive performance in 2026, defeating Richmond 19.12 (126) to 11.6 (72) by 54 points in front of 67,364 spectators at the MCG. Kysaiah Pickett was the standout, kicking four goals and producing a spectacular mark as Melbourne took control of the contest.
The result followed Melbourne’s 20-point victory in 2025, continuing a winning sequence that has stretched back to 2021. For Richmond, the 2027 meeting presents an opportunity to break that run and deliver a memorable victory on one of the club’s biggest stages.
Melbourne, meanwhile, will be looking to maintain its recent advantage and give its supporters another ANZAC Day Eve performance to celebrate.
