2027 ANZAC Day Match MCG Corporate Boxes, Tickets, Dining
Secure your MCG Corporate Box or premium AFL hospitality package for Collingwood vs Essendon on ANZAC Day, Sunday 25 April 2027 at 3:15pm (AEST). Dynamic Sports Marketing offers private corporate suites and premium dining experiences for one of Australia’s most iconic sporting occasions.
The Magpies and Bombers return to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for their traditional ANZAC Day clash, a fixture that combines fierce AFL rivalry with a moving tribute to Australia’s servicemen and women.
With the pre-match ANZAC observance, an enormous MCG crowd and two of the competition’s most passionate supporter bases, this is an exceptional opportunity to entertain clients, reward staff or share an unforgettable day at the football.
ANZAC Day at the MCG – A Football Tradition Like No Other
Since Collingwood and Essendon established their annual ANZAC Day fixture in 1995, the match has grown into one of the most significant occasions on the Australian sporting calendar. The inaugural encounter attracted 94,825 spectators to the MCG and ended in a dramatic draw, immediately establishing the fixture as something special.
More than three decades later, the ANZAC Day clash remains a powerful combination of remembrance, tradition and elite Australian Rules football. The pre-match observance ceremony is central to the occasion, traditionally featuring the Last Post, a period of silence and the national anthem.
For the thousands of supporters inside the MCG, the atmosphere during the ceremony is unlike almost anything else in Australian sport. Once the football begins, the intensity rarely diminishes. The match regularly attracts crowds approaching or exceeding 90,000, with the Magpies and Bombers competing for one of the most coveted victories of the home-and-away season.
In 2027, ANZAC Day falls on a Sunday, adding a weekend atmosphere to an already extraordinary fixture.
Collingwood vs Essendon – A Rivalry Built on Big Moments
The ANZAC Day rivalry has produced countless memorable performances and dramatic finishes since 1995.
One of the most remarkable recent encounters came in 2024, when Collingwood and Essendon played out a thrilling draw in front of 93,644 spectators at the MCG.
The following year delivered another memorable contest, with Collingwood defeating Essendon by 41 points in front of 92,044 fans.
The Magpies continued their success in 2026, recording a 28-point victory over the Bombers to extend their winning run in the traditional fixture.
Beyond the result, the ANZAC Day Medal remains one of the most prestigious individual honours awarded during the AFL home-and-away season, recognising the player who best demonstrates skill, courage, self-sacrifice, teamwork and fair play.
For Collingwood, the 2027 meeting presents an opportunity to continue its recent success. Essendon will be determined to reverse the trend and deliver a memorable performance on one of football’s biggest stages.
With the atmosphere of the MCG and the significance of the occasion, ANZAC Day rarely needs any additional promotion.
