The Tigers welcome the Crows to the MCG for a Saturday afternoon contest between two clubs at different stages of their development. Richmond’s emerging generation will be looking to make its mark against an Adelaide side with considerable attacking talent and ambitions of sustained success.
With a weekend timeslot and the atmosphere of the MCG, this fixture offers an excellent opportunity to entertain clients, reward staff or enjoy an afternoon of football with friends.
Tigers and Crows Renew Their Rivalry
Richmond and Adelaide share a significant chapter of modern AFL history, highlighted by the 2017 Grand Final at the MCG. On that occasion, Richmond defeated the heavily favoured Crows by 48 points to claim its first premiership in 37 years.
Dustin Martin won the Norm Smith Medal as the Tigers produced a dominant second-half performance in front of more than 100,000 spectators. The result launched Richmond’s remarkable premiership era, with the Tigers going on to win further flags in 2019 and 2020.
Adelaide has since rebuilt its playing group, developing an exciting combination of established stars and emerging talent. For Richmond, the 2027 meeting is an opportunity to challenge a strong interstate opponent and demonstrate the progress of its next generation of players.
The Crows will be determined to secure valuable premiership points away from home and strengthen their position as the season approaches its midpoint. With the history between these clubs and the contrasting styles of their playing groups, this Round 12 contest promises an entertaining afternoon at the MCG.
